Approach provide support to local communities in Staffordshire to support the wellbeing of those affected by dementia, to live their life the way they choose.

10 Dementia information factsheets have been produced by Approach Dementia Support, with support from Keele Social Inclusion. The factsheets provide clear and accurate information on topics including : memory loss, dementia care, medication, delerium, LPA’s, finance, support information and advice.
Approach offer free informal carers dementia awareness sessions in April and May 2025, which aim to improve the health and wellbeing of the person living with dementia, their family, friends and caregiver, promoting independence at home and in the local community.

Dementia Adventure offer free online training for carers: Understanding Dementia Training, to help people to learn more about dementia and receive practical guidance that will help in the supportive role.
Resources for the family and friends of people living with dementia include: a guide to the benefits of nature, top tips to connect with nature and overcoming barriers. A range of memory resources, dementia diaries, apps and websites including things to do at home are also available.

The MacIntyre Checkers Advisors are a group of people supported and employed by MacIntyre who assist in the creation and approval of communications that are made accessible to anyone using a MacIntyre service.
The group meets regularly to check information is easy to read and is presented in a format that most people are able to understand. Only then is it given the MacIntyre Checkers stamp of approval.
